Defendants in Pyla torture case appear before Larnaca Criminal Court

Two individuals, aged 48 and 27, appeared before the Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca regarding a case involving torture at a facility in Pyla, which occurred in the summer of 2025. The defendants are facing 16 joint charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal possession of firearms, kidnapping, causing grievous bodily harm, and participation in a criminal organization. Additionally, the 48-year-old and another individual, who is currently being sought, are charged with two counts related to the execution of documents. The defense counsel requested more time, and the court scheduled the plea hearing for May 14. The 48-year-old was previously arrested on February 6 in connection with a separate January 17 incident in Larnaca involving a clash and gunfire. Police have conducted searches at premises linked to the suspect to collect forensic evidence, and a judicial warrant has been issued for a third person involved in the current case.
