General Commissioner of Elections issues directive on campaign advertising reporting

The General Commissioner of Elections in Cyprus has issued an official announcement regarding the regulatory requirements for advertising agencies providing services to political candidates. Under Article 52(6) of the Law on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives, all entities offering advertising services to candidates are required to submit detailed summary statements. These reports must account for all services provided to each candidate or on their behalf. The statements must be submitted to the Auditor General of the Republic. The deadline for this submission is set at one month following the date of the election. The Commissioner explicitly warned that any advertising entity failing to comply with these legal obligations will be committing an illegal act. This measure is intended to ensure transparency and full compliance with the established legal framework during the election period.
