24th Cyprus Film Days International Festival concludes in Limassol
The 24th Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2026 concluded on Saturday at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol after a nine-day program featuring screenings, workshops, and industry meetings. The closing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture and the Mayor of Limassol, with artistic direction by Evita Ioannou and hosting by Elena Antoniou. Over 150 film professionals from Cyprus, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa participated in the Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days platform. Myrsini Aristidou’s film 'Hold Onto Me' dominated the Cypriot competition, winning Best Cypriot Film, Best Director, and the Audience Award. In the international Glocal Images competition, the French film 'Nino' by Pauline Loquès won Best Film, receiving a €6,000 prize. Additional international awards included the Special Jury Award for 'Aisha Can’t Fly Away' and Best Director for Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay for 'Hysteria'. In the Cypriot competition, Dinos Lyras and Lenia Sorokkou received the Best Performance Award for their roles in 'Maricel'.
