Four youths attacked by group in Heraklion

On Saturday night, a group of approximately ten hooded individuals attacked four young people in the Kipoupoli area of Heraklion. The incident occurred in a park on Filellinon Street, across from the 5th Lyceum of Heraklion. According to the victims, the assailants approached them and asked about their favorite sports team before initiating a physical assault. The four victims consisted of two 19-year-olds, a 21-year-old, and a 17-year-old. Two of the victims, specifically the 21-year-old and one of the 19-year-olds, sustained injuries requiring medical treatment. They were transported to a local hospital, where they received stitches and were subsequently discharged. Local police are currently investigating the incident. Authorities are reviewing security camera footage from the vicinity to identify the perpetrators. The investigation is also focusing on whether the motive was related to fan violence or other underlying causes.
