Limassol enters carnival rhythms – The most colorful period of the year has officially begun
Limassol has officially begun its preparations for the 2026 Carnival with an impressive press conference held at the Panos Solomonidis Cultural Centre. During the event, the full schedule of festivities was unveiled, with celebrations set to take place from February 12th to the 22nd. Amaryllis Kyriakou was crowned as the new Carnival Queen, recognizing her continuous creative contribution to the institution since 1985. Mayor Yiannis Armeftis highlighted the deep historical roots of the event, which has united generations of residents for over a century. This year's program will expand beyond the city center into various neighborhoods, featuring parades, satirical floats, and traditional serenades. The enriched festivities aim to combine tradition with modern entertainment, attracting thousands of visitors to the island's most vibrant celebration.
