Cypriot authorities report recent drug seizures and arrests in Paphos and Nicosia
Cypriot law enforcement agencies have reported multiple drug-related incidents across the country. In Paphos, four individuals aged 28, 32, 32, and 18 were arrested on Monday after police seized approximately 1.03 kg of cocaine, 150 grams of cannabis, 0.5 grams of methamphetamine, and 3,060 euros in cash from their vehicle. On Tuesday, the Paphos district court issued eight-day detention orders for all four suspects, who face charges including conspiracy and possession with intent to supply. Separately, in Nicosia, a 28-year-old man was remanded for seven days following a police search of his home on April 23, 2026, where 1.5 kg of synthetic cannabinoids and a large sum of money were discovered. Additionally, authorities reported the seizure of approximately 2.9 kg of cannabis contained in a package that arrived via a local airport. The YKAN anti-drug unit continues investigations into all these cases, with the Nicosia suspect claiming sole ownership of the seized substances in his case.
