Anti-drone system deployed at Central Prisons intercepts illegal package
A new anti-drone system, installed at the Central Prisons of Cyprus 48 hours prior, successfully intercepted a drone early Sunday morning. The drone was detected flying at a high altitude over the prison courtyard. It dropped a ball containing three mobile phones and three chargers, intended for illicit delivery to inmates. The monitoring system recorded the flight path and the drone's launch coordinates. The recovered items have been handed over to the Cyprus Police for investigation. Authorities are currently using the serial numbers of the phones and the recorded flight data to identify the sender and the intended recipient. This incident marks the first operational test and success of the newly installed security technology at the facility.
