Demetris Papadakis responds to Makarios Drousiotis regarding Andreas Gregoriou allegations

Former MEP Demetris Papadakis has publicly responded to allegations made by author Makarios Drousiotis concerning the appointment of Andreas Gregoriou, the current General Director of the Ministry of Agriculture. Drousiotis claimed that a message sent by Papadakis to former MEP Michalakis Christodoulou on December 11, 2019, suggested that Gregoriou was promised the position of General Director at the Ministry of Justice. In his rebuttal, Papadakis denied these claims and questioned the authenticity of the evidence presented by Drousiotis. He noted that during the 10-year presidency of Nicos Anastasiades, he only visited the Presidential Palace twice. Papadakis acknowledged a long-standing friendship with Gregoriou, dating back to their university years, but denied any involvement in his professional appointment. He characterized Drousiotis's allegations as fabricated and misleading. The dispute remains ongoing with both parties exchanging public accusations.
