Cyprus holds the 2026 Christodoula March for cancer awareness
On April 25, 2026, the annual Christodoula March took place simultaneously in cities across Cyprus. This event, which has been held for over 50 years, serves as a campaign to raise awareness for cancer and support the work of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society. The marches were coordinated to focus on the Arodafnousa Palliative Care Centre. Participants included members of the general public, institutional representatives, and organized groups. The initiative is supported by the Bank of Cyprus as a long-term partner. Alekos Stamatis, Chairman of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, noted that the organization continues to evolve its internationally accredited palliative care services to comply with current legislative frameworks. The event aims to provide tangible support to patients and their families through prevention, awareness, and palliative care initiatives. While reports emphasize high public turnout, no specific attendance numbers were provided.
