Eirini Mourtzoukou testifies regarding the death of Panagiotakis

Twenty-five-year-old Eirini Mourtzoukou appeared before the investigator in Amaliada to testify regarding the death of a child named Panagiotakis in August 2024. A forensic report by a three-member committee attributed the child's death to asphyxia, leading to criminal charges of intentional homicide against Mourtzoukou. Currently, the defendant is in custody at Korydallos prison, facing accusations linked to three other child deaths. In her written statement, Mourtzoukou claims she was in another room when the child fell ill and asserts her innocence, alleging that the child's mother and grandmother pressured her to conceal details. Conversely, the child's mother maintains that Mourtzoukou is responsible for the death. The defendant continues to deny the allegations, stating that the child's welfare was always her priority.
