Contract signed for construction of Larnaca central bus station

The Cypriot Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has signed a contract worth €6.38 million (plus VAT) for the construction of a new central bus station in Larnaca. The project was awarded to Iacovou Brothers (Constructions) Ltd, with the agreement signed by the acting director of the Public Works Department, Stelios Zervos, and Alkis Iacovou. The facility will be located on state-owned land near the Larnaca marina, designed to serve urban, intercity, and regional routes, as well as provide direct airport connections. The project includes the design, construction, and maintenance of the station, along with road improvements on Faliro Street. Work is scheduled to begin in mid-May 2026. The development is co-financed by the EU's 'THALIA 2021–2027' programme and is part of the city's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
