International remote sensing conference RSCy 2026 held in Paphos
The 12th International Conference on Remote Sensing and Geoinformation of Environment (RSCy 2026) is being held in Paphos, Cyprus, from April 27 to 29, 2026. Representing the President of the Republic, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Dr. Nikodimos Damianou attended the event. The conference focuses on space technologies as critical infrastructure for addressing global issues such as climate change and food security. Dr. Damianou emphasized that space technology is a key component of the current national strategy and the European Presidency of the Council. Diomidis Hadjimitsis from the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence at the Cyprus University of Technology highlighted the event's significance. The conference is organized in collaboration with the EXCELSIOR H2020 Teaming project and the Cyprus Remote Sensing Society. The government aims to integrate satellite data into local technological infrastructure to provide practical terrestrial applications.
