Cyprus Minister of Education outlines educational policy and EU priorities

Cyprus Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, recently attended two official events to discuss the government's educational strategy. On Friday, during the 30th anniversary celebration of the Apostolos Pavlos Gymnasium in Paphos, she described a unified strategy focused on infrastructure upgrades, digital transition, and inclusive education. She emphasized that schools serve as institutions of democracy and social cohesion, aiming to prepare students for the future liberation and reunification of Cyprus. Additionally, on Thursday, the Minister attended a concert by the Nicosia Music School titled 'The Music of the Big Screen, from Europe to the World.' During this event, she highlighted the significance of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Michaelidou stressed that the Ministry's current goal is to engage the younger generation in promoting Cyprus's history and its role within the European family. She called for students to act as ambassadors of European values to ensure the country's progress and stability.
