Recent crime incidents in Cyprus
In Nicosia, a 44-year-old man was hospitalized after being stabbed in the abdomen and right forearm during an altercation with an unknown assailant outside his kiosk on Prodromou Avenue at 06:40. In Limassol, a 20-year-old delivery driver was robbed at 10:25 PM on Patriarchou Fotiou Street in Kato Polemidia by four hooded individuals who kicked his motorcycle and punched him. The victim in Limassol declined medical assistance, while the Nicosia victim remains under medical care at the Nicosia General Hospital. Separately, in Ayia Napa, a 50-year-old suspect was remanded for seven days following a robbery on April 25 where a 20-year-old pedestrian was threatened with a knife, injured in the hand, and robbed of cash and a mobile phone. Police investigations are ongoing in all three cases under the respective stations of Strovolos, Limassol CID, and Famagusta CID. No suspects have been identified yet in the Nicosia and Limassol incidents.
