Security incident occurs at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

On the evening of Saturday, April 25, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife were evacuated by the Secret Service from the White House Correspondents' Dinner held at the Washington Hilton hotel. The evacuation followed reports of five to seven gunshots fired near a security checkpoint outside the event hall. Washington Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll identified the suspect as a 30-year-old man from California, who was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives.
