Recent fire incidents in Nicosia and Larnaca
Two separate fire incidents were reported in Cyprus involving industrial and residential property. On Sunday at 15:06, a fire broke out in a workshop within a poultry farm located between Kokkinotrimithia and Mammari in the Nicosia district. Four fire engines responded, controlling the blaze by 16:23. The incident damaged two vehicles and workshop equipment, and firefighters cooled four carbon dioxide cylinders to prevent further danger. Investigations into the cause are ongoing. Separately, a fire occurred in an abandoned ground-floor building in Larnaca at 17:04. The fire, which started from discarded materials, damaged the interior ceiling and affected an adjacent house's roof. Emergency responders searched the premises following reports of a person inside but found no one. Authorities confirmed the building had been occupied by foreign nationals. Investigations into the cause of the Larnaca fire are also underway.
