Investigation into management of Turkish Cypriot property in Larnaca

The Larnaca Police Department is investigating the management of a Turkish Cypriot property located on Tasos Mitsopoulos Avenue in Larnaca, which is linked to relatives of MP Michalis Giakoumis. The Cypriot Ministry of Interior has officially terminated the lease agreement for the property following an evaluation by state services. The lessees are required to restore the premises to their original condition and vacate the property by May 1. Failure to comply will result in eviction and repossession procedures beginning on May 4. Investigations by the Ministry of Interior and MOKAS revealed that the property was leased to a company owned by the MP's parents but was being operated as a restaurant by a different company without a required subleasing permit. The case came to light when the operating company sought to open a bank account, a process during which the MP reportedly intervened to address inquiries. The investigation remains ongoing.
