Cyprus government fiscal results for 2025 and the final quarter
In 2025, Cyprus reported a total revenue of €15,921.7 million, representing a 7.9% increase compared to €14,750.3 million in 2024. Total expenditures for the same period rose by 10.3% to €14,680.2 million. Growth was driven by social contributions, which reached €4,905.4 million, and taxes on income and wealth, which climbed to €4,183.8 million. Conversely, net VAT receipts saw a slight decline of 0.5% to €3,153.6 million. For the final quarter of 2025, the General Government recorded a fiscal surplus of €119.4 million, compared to €94.9 million in the last quarter of 2024. During this final quarter, revenues reached €4.7 billion, while expenditures amounted to €4.6 billion. The Statistical Service released these preliminary data, noting broad increases across most revenue categories including capital transfers and property income.
