Ongoing military actions in Gaza and southern Lebanon despite ceasefires

Israeli military operations continued across Gaza and southern Lebanon this week despite ongoing ceasefire agreements. In Gaza, health officials reported at least four Palestinian deaths on Sunday resulting from airstrikes in Al-Mughraqa, shelling near Gaza City, and gunfire in Khan Younis. Recent statistics indicate that since the October 2025 ceasefire, over 800 Palestinians and four Israeli soldiers have died in Gaza, while total fatalities since the October 2023 conflict began exceed 72,500. Separately, four people were reported killed in southern Lebanon following Israeli strikes, though the connection remains unverified. Israel stated it targeted Hezbollah rocket launchers and fighters, while Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel. Israeli forces have maintained a warning for residents to avoid the Litani River area.
