Nicosia public electric vehicle charging stations to undergo temporary suspension
On April 23, 2026, the Nicosia Municipality and Petrolina (Holdings) Public Limited signed a new management agreement for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. To facilitate technical upgrades and the implementation of a new pricing structure, all public charging stations in Nicosia will be out of service from April 27 to May 3, 2026. Normal operations are expected to resume on Monday, May 4, 2026. The contract was signed by Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos and Petrolina Commercial Director Petros Fiakkas. Users will continue to access charging services through the existing pcharge application. Furthermore, the municipality plans to expand the network by installing four additional charging units. The shutdown is described by the municipality as a necessary step for system modernization.
