French President Emmanuel Macron visits Athens for strategic cooperation talks

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Athens on Friday, April 24, for an official visit focused on extending the strategic defense and security agreement between Greece and France for another five years. On Friday evening, President Macron and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis participated in a discussion titled 'Challenges for Europe, the Road to Tomorrow' at the Roman Agora, hosted by the newspaper Kathimerini. The schedule includes a state dinner at the Presidential Mansion with various government officials and dignitaries. On Saturday morning, the two leaders are scheduled to visit the frigate Kimon before holding an official meeting at the Maximos Mansion at 11:30. Following their meeting, they will sign new bilateral agreements and address the press. In the afternoon, both leaders will attend the Greek-French Business Forum held at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center to discuss bilateral economic ties.
