Trial continues regarding the death of Diego Maradona
A trial is currently underway in San Isidro, Argentina, concerning the death of football legend Diego Maradona. Seven healthcare professionals, including a doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, and nurses, are facing charges of alleged medical negligence. During recent hearings, Dr. Juan Carlos Pinto provided testimony regarding the condition of Maradona's body when he arrived at the patient's residence in Tigre on November 25, 2020. The doctor described severe edema and abdominal swelling, which he attributed to a combination of obesity and ascites. A 17-minute forensic video and photographs showing the deceased were presented as evidence in court. The daughter of the former athlete, Gianinna Maradona, attended the proceedings and expressed visible distress during the presentation of the visual evidence. The trial is scheduled to continue twice a week and is expected to last until July.
