European Union announces the One Europe, One Market roadmap
The European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, and the European Commission have officially signed the One Europe, One Market roadmap. This initiative aims to bolster the European economy by focusing on three pillars: a more integrated single market, a diversified trade policy, and an industrial strategy centered on innovation and job quality. The roadmap aligns with objectives established by the European Council in March 2026. Institutional stakeholders are committed to achieving significant progress throughout 2026 and completing key initiatives by the end of 2027. The plan identifies five strategic focus areas, including the simplification of regulatory rules. A central goal is the removal of the ten most significant barriers currently hindering the single market. The strategy also emphasizes the protection of the European Pillar of Social Rights during this economic transition.
