Metsola calls for new EU funding sources at Nicosia summit

On April 24, 2026, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola attended an informal summit of EU heads of state in Nicosia. Regarding energy policy, she argued that the EU must move beyond temporary solutions and focus on long-term infrastructure investments to ensure supply security and strategic autonomy.
