Investigation into the Sandy case and testimonies of high-profile individuals

Cypriot authorities are conducting an investigation into allegations made by a woman referred to as Sandy, who claimed to be a lawyer connected to the Legal Service. Former President Nicos Anastasiades was recently interviewed by investigators in Limassol regarding text messages mentioning his name. Anastasiades expressed ignorance regarding why his name was used and referenced his ongoing legal dispute with author Makarios Drousiotis. The investigation aims to clarify claims about a so-called Rosicrucian Brotherhood and the movement of large sums of money. Authorities are also awaiting banking records to investigate accounts linked to international transfers. To date, police have not substantiated the claims, with some evidence suggesting the allegations may have been fabricated by the woman using online materials. Former associates of the woman have testified that she falsely claimed to work for the Legal Service. Further testimonies are expected from other high-profile figures, including former ministers and judges, as the probe continues.
