Cypriot athletes compete at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Cairo

At the ISSF Junior World Cup held in Cairo, Cypriot shooter Achilleas Sofokleous won the silver medal in the air rifle event with a score of 250.2 points. The gold medal was taken by Uzbekistan's Javohir Sokhibov with 251.2 points, while Pranav Vanitha Suresh of India secured bronze with 229.5 points. In the skeet category, Markos Kontopoulos reached the final with a top qualification score of 122/125, ultimately finishing in fifth place with 20 hits, tied with Russia's Pavel Golubev who placed sixth. Andreas Pontikis also advanced to the skeet final, finishing seventh with 10 hits. In the junior women's skeet event, Cypriot athlete Sotiroula Christou finished in eighth place after qualifying with 110/125. The skeet gold medal for men was won by British shooter Japo Denzil Grose, followed by Italian Marco Coco with silver and Finnish athlete Matias Kauppinen with bronze.
