Nicosia hosts inaugural Open House architecture festival

The first edition of the Open House Nicosia architecture festival took place on April 18–19, 2026. Organised by the NGO Voices of the City-Open House Nicosia, the event allowed public access to 39 buildings across nine areas, including the city centre, Strovolos, and Engomi. More than 155 volunteers facilitated free guided tours for over 5,000 visitors. The program featured notable locations such as Nicosia Town Hall, The Landmark Nicosia, the Cyprus Museum, and various private residences. Additionally, architectural walking tours attracted over 100 participants. The event was held under the auspices of the Nicosia Municipality and supported by organisations including ETEK, the Cyprus Architects Association, and Visit Nicosia, with corporate sponsorship. This festival integrates Nicosia into the international Open House Worldwide network, which has expanded to over 60 cities since 1992.
