Wizz Air expands Larnaca flight operations with new routes to Athens and Madrid
Wizz Air announced the expansion of its flight network from Larnaca, Cyprus, starting in September 2026. The airline will introduce new direct flights to Athens, Greece, and Madrid, Spain, while increasing frequencies on routes to Barcelona, Thessaloniki, and Yerevan. Service to Athens will begin in September with 11 flights per week, increasing to 14 flights weekly (twice daily) from October. Flights to Madrid will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. One-way fares start at €29.99 for Athens and €55.99 for Madrid, inclusive of taxes and one carry-on bag. The Cyprus Ministry of Tourism welcomed the expansion, labeling it a vote of confidence in the nation's air connectivity. Wizz Air Network Officer András Szabó noted that the moves respond to passenger demand and strengthen the airline's operational base in Larnaca.
