Wizz Air announces route expansion at Larnaca airport

Low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced an expansion of its network from Larnaca, Cyprus, starting in September 2026. The carrier will introduce new direct flights to Athens and Madrid. The Athens route will begin with 11 flights per week, increasing to 14 weekly flights in October 2026, with fares starting at €29.99. The new service to Madrid will operate three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with fares starting at €55.99. Additionally, Wizz Air will increase the frequency of existing flights to Barcelona, Thessaloniki, and Yerevan. These changes include all mandatory fees and one carry-on bag in the quoted prices. The airline stated that the expansion is in response to passenger demand and follows the recent success of the Barcelona route. Representatives from both Wizz Air and the airport operator confirmed the commitment to strengthening connectivity within the region.
