Cyprus ministry reports immigration and deportation statistics
The Ministry of Justice, the Cyprus Police, and the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection have released data regarding their joint operations aimed at managing irregular migration and crime. For the period between March 1 and the present, authorities reported 195 deportations, 729 voluntary departures, and 204 arrests related to illegal stay or employment, alongside 256 irregular arrivals. Cumulative figures for the year beginning January 1 show 535 deportations, 2,052 voluntary departures, 578 arrests, and 529 irregular arrivals. The deportations include individuals held in police detention, central prisons, and the Limnes pre-departure center. Government officials stated these operations are part of a broader strategy to maintain public order. Authorities have confirmed that these enforcement actions are ongoing across the country. The stated goal remains the management of migration flows and the strengthening of public safety.
