Road accidents and traffic disruptions reported in Cyprus
On April 24, 2026, a serious traffic accident involving a car and a motorcycle occurred on the M1 motorway in the Akrotiri region, leading to a road closure by the British Bases Police. Additionally, a two-vehicle collision at the Germasogeia roundabout in Limassol caused significant traffic congestion, though authorities reported no injuries. Another incident on the same day involved a bus and a car at the old GSZ roundabout in Larnaca, resulting in material damage but no reported injuries. Earlier, on April 24, a collision near Monte Caputo on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway closed the right lane and caused heavy traffic. On April 23, two other accidents on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway were recorded: a four-vehicle crash near Pyrgos and a three-vehicle collision near Parekklisia which resulted in one minor injury.
