Cypriot parliamentarians honored at the Council of Europe

Nikos Tornaritis, head of the Cypriot delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and Vice-President of the Assembly, and Kostis Efstathiou, a member of the delegation, were honored for their service in Strasbourg. The event was hosted at the residence of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the Council of Europe, Giorgos Giangkou, marking the conclusion of their respective terms. Despina Chatzivasiliou, Secretary General of the Assembly, commended their efforts in defending the values of the organization. Dora Bakoyannis, head of the Greek delegation, highlighted their collaborative work and their role in strengthening Greek-Cypriot relations. Permanent Representative Giorgos Giangkou stated that their contributions have helped bolster the international presence of the Republic of Cyprus. The ceremony served as an acknowledgment of their legislative tenure at the European institution.
