Audio recording in the Makarios Drousiotis case identified as excerpt from German documentary
An audio recording presented by journalist Makarios Drousiotis as part of allegations against high-profile figures has been identified as containing background audio from a 2019 German documentary. Forensic analyst Alexis Mavros determined that the German voice in the recording originates from an Arte documentary regarding economic hardship in Venezuela, specifically mentioning supply shortages and permanent restrictions. This finding contradicts earlier claims by journalist Stelios Orphanides, who suggested the audio featured an announcement from a German train station related to pandemic-era emergency measures. Orphanides had previously asserted the recording was made in 2021. Multiple news outlets in Cyprus reported these findings, attributing them to either Alexis Mavros or Dino Pastos, the CEO of the company Texodus. Former Edek MEP Demetris Papadakis had previously employed Mavros to examine his mobile devices in relation to the broader case involving the woman identified as 'Sandy'.
