Cyprus Forum Cities to be held in Limassol on April 24, 2026
The fourth annual Cyprus Forum Cities is scheduled for April 24, 2026, at the Pefkos City Hotel in Limassol. The event is co-organized by Oxygen for Democracy, the Municipality of Limassol, and the Cyprus University of Technology. It is held under the auspices of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026 and receives co-funding from the European Union. Participants will include mayors such as Giannis Armeftis (Limassol), Charalambos Prountzos (Nicosia), Andreas Vyras (Larnaca), Christodoulos Partou (Aradippou), Christos Zannettou (Ayia Napa), and Kyriakos Xidias (Amathus). The agenda covers local government reform, financial autonomy, citizen trust, urban planning, and sustainable waste management systems like 'Pay-As-You-Throw'. Discussions will also address energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, and the relationship between the European Union and local municipalities.
