Cyprus and Greece sign updated investment cooperation agreement

On April 21, the 2nd Cyprus Business Presentations Conference was held in Athens, organized by FMW Financial Media Way. During the event, Invest Cyprus and Enterprise Greece renewed their strategic memorandum of cooperation to strengthen bilateral investment ties and attract foreign capital. The document was signed by Marios Tannousis, director general of Invest Cyprus, and Dimitris Skalkos, president of Enterprise Greece. A key focus of the conference was the new Cypriot tax system, effective from January 1, 2026, which Tax Commissioner Sotiris Markidis described as simplified and aligned with European Union standards. Marios Tannousis identified the Cypriot defence industry as a major area for potential foreign investment. Additionally, Tannousis noted that the anticipated end of the conflict in Iran could provide new regional economic opportunities. The Greek government was represented by Dimitris Skalkos and Iosif Kypraios, who confirmed the ongoing positive trajectory of economic cooperation between the two nations.
