Ministry of Interior: Requests data on permanent appointments in Polis Chrysochous Municipality
The Ministry of Interior is requesting specific data regarding allegations of 17 illegal permanent worker appointments in the Polis Chrysochous Municipality. This investigation follows a formal complaint filed by the Deputy Mayor of the Kritou Terra community. The allegations suggest that children of four different deputy mayors are among those who were granted permanent status illegally. In response, the Ministry sent an official letter to the Mayor and the City Council demanding the immediate submission of relevant documentation. This inquiry is being conducted under Article 117 of the Municipalities Law to ensure adherence to the principle of legality. Depending on the findings, the Minister of Interior retains the authority to revoke or cancel the council's decisions.
