Recent arrests in Limassol and Paphos regarding drug trafficking cases
In Limassol, a 57-year-old man was arrested following a police investigation into a case involving 9.094 kilograms of cocaine discovered in August 2025. A 45-year-old man had already been arrested in connection with the same case, during which 42 cartons of untaxed cigarettes and €2,525 were seized. The 57-year-old is expected to be referred to the Criminal Court. Separately, in Paphos, a 27-year-old man was arrested after police stopped his vehicle and found cannabis, cocaine, and methamphetamine, alongside cash. A subsequent search of his residence led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man for illegal residency in the Republic of Cyprus. A third unidentified individual managed to escape the scene by jumping from a balcony. Further quantities of cannabis and precision scales were discovered in a locked room at the residence. The 27-year-old was scheduled to appear before the Paphos District Court for a remand hearing.
