Helder Castro joins Olympiakos Nicosia coaching staff
Olympiakos Nicosia has officially announced the appointment of 40-year-old Portuguese coach Helder Castro to its technical staff. This decision marks a change in strategy, as the club previously intended to finish the season with Kyriakos Polykarpou as the interim manager following the departure of Giorgos Kostis. Castro, who played for the club during the 2012-2013 and 2016-2018 seasons, returns to help the team avoid relegation. While initial reports suggested he would take over as head coach, subsequent official communications described his role as strengthening the existing coaching staff. He is expected to join the team for training and debut in the upcoming 4th round play-out match against Ethnikos Achnas. Castro previously worked at the Portuguese club Florgrade. The move aims to improve the team's competitive form after a period of poor results.
