French President Emmanuel Macron to visit Cyprus on April 23, 2026
On April 23, 2026, French President Emmanuel Macron will conduct an official visit to Cyprus. This marks the first official bilateral visit by a French head of state since the establishment of the Republic of Cyprus. The visit follows the signing of an upgraded Strategic Partnership agreement and a 2026-2030 Action Plan in Paris in December 2025. President Macron and the President of Cyprus will hold a private meeting at the Presidential Palace, followed by expanded talks between their respective delegations. Discussions will focus on the implementation of the Strategic Partnership, cooperation in energy, defense, and regional security, as well as European Union matters. Additionally, the Cypriot President plans to brief Macron on the latest developments regarding the Cyprus issue and current United Nations efforts. This visit occurs just 45 days after President Macron’s previous trip to the island.
