Disappearance of 43-year-old woman in Heraklion, Crete

Eleftheria Giakoumaki, a 43-year-old mother of three from Dafnes, Heraklion, went missing on Sunday, April 19. Her son officially reported her disappearance at 1:00 AM on April 20 after she failed to return home or follow up on a text message sent earlier. She was scheduled to appear in court in Heraklion on Monday, April 20, as a victim in a personal case. Authorities have issued a Missing Alert, and cameras have reportedly captured her white Honda vehicle. The investigation into her whereabouts continues, with her mobile phone's last signal traced to the Afentis Christos area on Mount Jouchtas. Recently, her former partner, who had been questioned and released by police, was found dead. Reports indicate he had previously exhibited scratches which he claimed were from a motorcycle accident.
