Victim identified in Limassol building collapse

A 27-year-old Colombian national, Leonela Aleman Morales, has been identified as one of the two victims of the building collapse in Yermasoyia, Limassol, which occurred on April 11. While reports confirm that the Colombian consulate informed her family of her death, Cypriot police have indicated that formal forensic identification procedures, involving DNA analysis through Interpol, are still ongoing for both bodies found at the site. The second victim has been identified in media reports as a 27-year-old from Nigeria. Yiannis Tsouloftas, president of the Limassol district government, stated that the building had been inspected on February 19 and officially declared dangerous on March 10, with owners instructed to evacuate and perform repairs. Morales, who was visiting Cyprus as a tourist, had been reported missing by her family after they lost contact, with her mobile phone's last signal traced to the collapsed structure. The family previously made public appeals for assistance due to difficulties in communicating with local authorities. Investigations into the circumstances of the collapse are continuing.
