Family seeks missing person following building collapse in Yermasoyia
A Colombian family is searching for 27-year-old Leonela Alemán Morales, who has been missing since mid-April following the collapse of an apartment building in Yermasoyia, Limassol. The collapse, which occurred on April 11, resulted in two confirmed fatalities, though the identities of the victims have not been officially verified by authorities. The missing individual, a trans woman identified in official documents as Leonardo Alemán Morales, was reportedly living in the building, and the last GPS signal from her mobile phone was traced to the site of the wreckage. Cypriot police stated that they are awaiting DNA samples for identification and have initiated coordination through Interpol. The victim's family, including her sister Johana, has reported significant difficulties in communicating with Cypriot authorities regarding the status of their relative. While one of the two victims has been recognized by their family, the second remains unidentified pending laboratory testing. The family is currently seeking assistance to determine if their relative is among those deceased.
