Three thousand trees planted in Lofou to restore fire-damaged forest area
On April 19, 2026, a reforestation project concluded in the village of Lofou, Limassol district, involving the planting of 3,000 trees. The initiative, titled 'Keep Growing,' was organized by Johnnie Walker Black Label, Diageo, and PPD Global, a subsidiary of the Photos Photiades Group, in partnership with the volunteer organization YouReForest Cyprus. The effort aimed to rehabilitate land affected by wildfires that occurred in the summer of 2025. Funding for the trees was generated through a consumer-driven program where 3 euros were donated for every bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label sold at Athienitis, Smart, MAS, Ioannides, and Metro supermarkets, as well as for every branded cocktail sold at participating bars and pubs. Volunteers, local residents, and staff from PPD Global participated in the planting day. This project is part of a broader corporate social responsibility effort to support the environmental recovery of the region. The trees were planted to help improve local biodiversity and assist in the long-term restoration of the forest ecosystem.
