Dimitris Papadakis surrenders mobile devices to police in Santi case investigation

Former MEP Dimitris Papadakis surrendered three mobile devices to the Nicosia police as part of the investigation into the Santi case. These devices, used by Papadakis since 2019, were requested by investigators for forensic analysis. Previously, Papadakis had hired a private forensic expert to examine the phones and submitted that report to the authorities on April 7. He maintains that he proactively offered the devices to police earlier, but was told they were not required at that time. The investigation follows allegations made by journalist Makarios Drousiotis regarding private communication screenshots involving former Supreme Court judge Michalakis Christodoulou. Papadakis has categorically denied any involvement, labeling the allegations as false, and has filed a complaint against Drousiotis for spreading misinformation. Other individuals, including Nikos Clerides, Michalis Christodoulou, and the person referred to as Santi, have also provided devices for examination. Papadakis has publicly expressed his desire for the investigation to conclude quickly to restore his reputation.
