Trial reveals details of 2022 murder of Athena Strand by FedEx driver

In an ongoing trial in Texas, new evidence has been presented regarding the November 2022 murder of seven-year-old Athena Strand by 34-year-old FedEx driver Tanner Horner. Recorded audio played for the jury from a surveillance camera inside the delivery truck captures the final moments of the victim after her abduction. In the audio, Strand is heard repeatedly asking Horner if he is a kidnapper. Horner is heard threatening the child to keep quiet and singing "Jingle Bell Rock" while the girl is heard crying out in pain. The evidence indicates that these events occurred approximately 30 minutes after Horner took the girl from her home. The trial is currently examining the timeline and the nature of the abduction and subsequent killing.
