Continued violence in Gaza despite ceasefire

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding recent casualties in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Civil Defense reported that an Israeli airstrike killed three people northwest of Khan Yunis on Tuesday. Separately, health officials reported two additional deaths in different incidents, including an airstrike on the Bureij refugee camp and another strike in Gaza City. The Israeli military did not provide immediate comments on these specific incidents. Meanwhile, reports of skirmishes between Hamas fighters and paramilitary groups occurred east of Khan Yunis. Since the October 10 ceasefire, approximately 750 to 770 Palestinians have been killed, while Israel reports the loss of four soldiers during the same period. Both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating the fragile truce. The ongoing conflict, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in significant destruction and high civilian casualties in the region.
