Multiple traffic accidents reported across Cyprus including bus plunge and serious injuries
Several traffic incidents occurred in Cyprus between Wednesday and Friday, resulting in multiple injuries across different locations. On Friday at 14:20, a bus fell six meters near the Halkbank roundabout on the Famagusta-Nicosia highway after the 58-year-old driver lost control and struck a stone wall. Both the driver and a 20-year-old passenger were hospitalized following the plunge. Earlier that morning, a separate two-vehicle collision in the Makedonitissa Tomb area of Engomi led to the hospitalization of two individuals. On Thursday morning around 09:00, a woman struck a vehicle carrying a couple and their seven-month-old infant on the Nicosia-Limassol highway near Agios Tychonas. Although no immediate injuries were reported from that collision, the infant was taken to a medical center for precautionary examinations. This highway incident caused significant traffic delays and the temporary closure of both lanes. Additionally, a 26-year-old motorcyclist remains in critical condition at Nicosia General Hospital after hitting a central reservation on Aglandjia Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. Police investigations into the specific causes of all these incidents are currently ongoing.
