Reasoning behind the Supreme Court's decision on Varousiotou's objection

The Supreme Constitutional Court of Cyprus has rejected an objection filed by Doria Varousiotou regarding the termination of her services as a judge. In a majority decision of five to three, the court ruled that her probationary appointment did not automatically grant her permanent status. The ruling emphasized that a new, explicit decision by the Supreme Judicial Council is required for a judge's permanent appointment following the end of a trial period.
