Two separate road accidents result in one death and one critical injury in Limassol

On Friday night, a motorcycle carrying a 23-year-old driver and a 21-year-old passenger collided with the back of a car driven by a 20-year-old on Georgiou A Street in the Yermasoyia area of Limassol. The 23-year-old sustained arm and leg fractures, while the 21-year-old passenger underwent surgery for multiple injuries and remains in critical condition. In a separate incident on Saturday, April 25, a fatal collision occurred on the M1 highway near Episkopi, within the British Sovereign Base Areas. A motorcycle collided with a car, resulting in the immediate death of the male motorcycle driver, who was a Ukrainian national. The female passenger was transported to Limassol General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police confirmed that both individuals in the second accident were wearing full protective gear. The drivers of both vehicles involved in these respective collisions have been detained by authorities for questioning. Investigations into the causes of both accidents are currently ongoing.
