Recent fatal road accidents and injury reports in Cyprus
Three separate road accidents occurred in Cyprus between April 24 and April 27, 2026. On April 24 in Limassol, 21-year-old Aggelos Kompos died after his motorcycle, driven by a 23-year-old, collided with a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old; neither motorcyclist wore a helmet. Separately, on April 25 in the Akrotiri British Bases, 35-year-old Ukrainian resident Oleksandr Denysenko died when his motorcycle collided with a car near a strawberry stall. The female passenger in the Akrotiri crash survived, and both riders were wearing protective gear; the car driver tested negative for alcohol and was released on bail. In a third incident on April 27 in Paphos, a 40-year-old foreign woman was struck by a vehicle while crossing Sotiraki Markidi Street. Reports on the woman's age vary, with some sources citing 40 and others 50 years old. She was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police are investigating all three incidents.
